When the emotions of this moment are too much, remembering the pleasure of a moment past helps us to move forward
My brain is thoroughly fried. Too little sleep, too much worry, and too many emotions have left me dead. I had an article in mind for early this morning, but by the time I got Kat and the kids off to school I was no longer capable of writing what needed to be written. Perhaps tomorrow.
So, what I’m giving you today is a set of never-before-seen photos from a 2009 shoot with Olivia. She and Tristan had recently moved into their house out in the middle of absolutely nowhere, just a couple of miles past the end of the earth. There was drywall and lumber and paint scattered about. The birds were making noise. Spike insisted on being in the pictures. Tristan made killer bacon cheeseburgers for lunch. It was a good day.
A lot has changed since then. Sadly, Spike is no longer with us. Liv and Tristan have repainted and finished (I think) most the adjustments they were wanting to make. Tristan has grown a killer mustache but he never lets me take pictures of it. He’s shy like that (and everyone who knows him just laughed). Liv’s changed jobs, rarely has time for modeling, and has more important matters to attend to.
We had a fun afternoon back then, though, and more pleasant memories like that keep me hopeful that maybe, just maybe, we’ll have nice days like that again. Eventually. Maybe. Â Assuming we survive. Enjoy the pictures.
